First off. This is not really the piece I wanted to write. I want my credo writing to represent some of my best work. That being said, I don’t have time to do my best work and am going to go for the bare minimum. I could list the reasons I’ve come to this spot but that would probably be a waste of both your and my time. Anyways, I promise to give more context at the seminar on Friday.
My third and final interviewee was Johnny Spangler who has been a long time friend and mentor to me. I wanted to interview Johnny in order to continue my exploration of positivity. Johnny (and the entire Spangler tribe) strikes me as people who have positivity in their bones and I enjoyed our talk immensely.

Toward the end of our interview (which was close to an hour long) I asked Johnny if he could bullet point his beliefs for me so it would be easy to reference. Johnny and I share a belief in positivity. Johnny also believes in being comfortable in the unknown and being honest about his feelings with himself. To illustrate these points, he told a story about one of his improv buddies:

Rex is an improv artist and was at an audition. During the audition, Rex has to take suggestions from the audience. Someone calls out “Stand-Up Comedian”. Rex freezes. The one thing he can’t do is stand up comedy. How’s Rex gonna get outta this one? Simple. He’s honest. He tells the audience “I’m not funny” and proceeds to play a scene about a stand-up comedian who isn’t funny and is trying to be funny. It goes over really well with the audience. Improv is about being comfortable in the unknown and Rex succeeded by being honest with himself, I think this story illustrated Johnny’s point brilliantly.

I’ve always disliked this question, largely because I have difficulty recognizing a hard question when I see one. In essence, for me, this question is a hard question, but I’ll give it a shot. I don’t necessarily have answers to these but feel free task me during seminar and I’ll tell you if I have an answer or not.
-What happens when positivity doesn’t work?
-Aren’t there things to actually worry about in this world?
-We talked about manifestation. Can’t manifestation go both ways? If you can manifest something good, why not bad too?
4.
I’m still interested in pursuing positivity. I’m still not sure how I feel about manifestation. I’m not really sure if there was a dramatic change in my beliefs as a result of this interview. The point was more to dig deeper into positive thinking and I think I succeeded at that. I’ve enjoyed all the interviews I’ve conducted and this one may be my favorite so far.
